About the event

Led by Dr. Jeremy Mims, Inspirar presents a performance of Johannes Brahms' A German Requiem (Ein deutsches Requiem, Op. 45). This profound choral masterpiece is known for its complex harmonies and is inspired by the German Lutheran Bible instead of traditional Latin texts. This work embodies Brahms' contemplation on life, death, and the comfort found in faith and community.

The performance includes two pianists, Todd Gillespie and Harrison Warner, playing a four-hand arrangement, as well as soloists Dr. Jeffrey McEvoy and Dr. Kristen Wunderlich. Join us at First Presbyterian in Rock Hill, SC, for an optional preshow talk at 6:45 pm, with the requiem beginning at 7:30 pm.
